Setup VanishedVPN PPTP on Windows 10

The following instructions will guide you through the set up of the VanishedVPN PPTP VPN on Windows 10.

 

1. Before you start, ensure that you are not connected to another VPN already, and that you do not have any other unblocking solutions (such as Hola) installed on your machine. If you have a Hola extension on your browser you need to remove it (it will still be active even if its disabled).

2. From the lower right corner click on “Action Center” icon (1). Then press on “VPN” (2).

   

   
    

3. This will open “Network & Internet” settings window. Click on “Add a VPN connection” .
   
   

   

   
    

4. On the next page fill the fields with the following settings:

5. VPN provider – Windows (built-in) .

6. “Connection name” – Give a memorable name to this connection. For example name it USA VanishedVPN.

   1. “Server name or address” – copy and paste the  server name you want to connect to from the list below (you can setup multiple clients so that you have one for each server by repeating the steps here:

7. “VPN type” – select Point to Point tunneling Protocol (PPTP).

8. “Type of sign-in info” – select User name and password.

9. In the “User name” and “Password” fields copy and paste the username and password that you were sent in the welcome email. It is important to copy and paste these as everything is case sensitive.
   
   

   

    

10. Check all selected data once again and press “Save” .

11. Now you can see your VPN connection was created.
    

12. Click on the VPN, and select ‘connect’ to test the connection.

13. When you want to connect to this VPN server go to Network button and click on the VPN connection .

14. This will open VPN connection list. Select desired VPN server and click on “Connect” .

15. After a few seconds a connection will be created. To disconnect just press the “Disconnect” button.
